Cross Main is a branch of First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro,
Tennessee. The three-story building is called "Cross Main" simply
because it is a building of the church (hence the "cross" part of the
name), and because it is located directly across main street. The
building plays host to youth activities, a singles ministry, a college
ministry, and much more. It also houses the office of our AWESOME youth
minister, David Cates. You can always find him in his office (during the
week) slaving away to provide fun, friendship, and religious inspiration
for us all. The youth group at First Baptist is, simply put, a bunch of
friends and fun under God. When people come to Cross Main, they know
they're gonna have a good time, and they know that they will always be
accepted there. Cross Main is also where the youth group and college
group meet for our AMAZING Wednesday night activities. Cross Main used to be a bank. Accordingly, we have named each of the three floors ourselves: the basement is just that... the basement. The main floor is called "the vault," as this floor housed the bank's main vault, and it is still there today. This floor is where we hold most of our activities. The top floor is what we call "the attic." Pretty self-explanatory. (Hide-and-seek in this building is KILLER!) The building also boasts a HUGE display screen (that we use a projector with), a somewhat complicated sound system, wireless internet, and a vending machine (oh, we forgot to mention the Nintendo 64 in the back). The building has also been recently renovated with fresh paint and carpet, and a brand new fire alarm system. And of course, we almost always have donuts and Coke on Sunday mornings to help jump-start our walk with God for that day. So come by and check us out sometime, you'll be glad you did!!! |
